The team works in real time to make sure the right people are in the right place – airside and landside – to meet demand. As our airports are the world’s busiest, it’s fast-paced and a real challenge. They see that the operational plan is followed, and issues are dealt with across terminals, regular operations, incidents and crisis handling. The operation has to be industry-leading, and it always is.
Job Purpose
  • To lead all functions of the AOCC comprising the DA internal teams and the third-party stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the operational performance of the AOCC as a central coordination function for the airport.
  • Leading the coordination with Strategy and Development and external stakeholders on the implementation of ACDM and Total Airport Management.
  • The AOCC is the central communication and information Centre for the airport and the post holder is responsible for driving the performance of all teams at the AOCC including coordinating with the leadership teams of government authorities, airlines and ground handling agents.
  • Responsible for leading, inspiring and developing the team of AOCC managers and the Heads of monitoring and Terminal works.
Qualifications and Education
Degree level or an equivalent qualification in a discipline related to engineering or aviation. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
Experience
10-12 years’ experience in airport operations management (terminal / cargo / airfield / Control Centre) providing extensive exposure such services within a customer service, safety and security-critical environment, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior managerial position involving the planning, organizing and integrating of a team and activities.

  • ACI / ICAO / IATA regulations
  • GCAA/DCAA regulations
  • QHSSE standards
  • Airport emergency and security procedures
  • Airport operations mainly: Terminal operations, passenger processing operations, ramp operations, passenger services, facilities management and services, data systems and communications, and airport fire and rescue services
  • Airline operations
  • Crisis management
  • Aviation security expertise
  • Customer Service skills and mind-set
